Patient Success Story
It took my doctors four years to diagnose Burning Mouth Syndrome as my chronic pain got worse and worse.
During that time I tried 20 different herbs and prescriptions as my doctors tried to find solutions to the worsening chronic pain. They sent me to 10 "Handling Pain Classes," several pain clinics, two specialists at OHSU, many counselors, and all kinds of resources to try and minimize the pain. As we reached what I felt the end of resources we decided to try acupuncture which had been recommended by doctors over the years but we had delayed because insurance did not cover it.
I went from a 8 or 9 on the pain scale all day every day to a 1 or 2. Every week the acupuncture reduced the pain. I was amazed, and every week the pain lessened. Lei Liu and his staff have made a tremendous improvement in my pain, stress, and anxiety. I highly recommend acupuncture, Lei Liu, and his clinic to anyone looking for help and relief.
Medicines and procedures I've tried prior to acupuncture:
- Vitamin B Complex
- Allergy test, blood work
- Biopsy of mouth
- Protopic Ointment
- Gabapentin (tried twice)
- Doxepin cream
- Tacrolimus ointment
- Ketoconazole cream
Two years ago, I came to G&L Acupuncture because I had symptoms related to menopause including problems sleeping, constipation and hot flashes. I tried talking to my general physician about these issues, but I didn't receive much of a response.
I didn't want to take hormones, so I tried acupuncture. I am now sleeping much better, and the constipation and hot flashes are almost completely gone! Some of my friends get their nails done at the salon to feel better, but I do acupuncture!
G&L and I have been committed to long term holistic heath. Started going for specific treatment, but stayed for maintenance, friendly staff and herbal supplements. Acupuncture can't cure everything, but it works well to get the body in tune. Stop by for a session or three and see what it can do for you.
I initially visited for chronic ear problems. In the 7 years since, G&L (and Zheng) have helped keep it under control. I've only had to visit the ENT dr twice during that time (vs every 3-4 months before then).
Really knowlegeable practicioners. My right arm has been hurting for 3 years and I've tried everything from physical therapy to weekly Thai massages to other acupunture centers and separate from getting steriod shots or taking pain killers.
Nora and my massage expert Lisa really do the trick! I plan on doing the bi-weekly treatment plan till my arm is 100% and then maybe reduce to weekly for maintainence. They even do facial acupunture (heard it's like a face lift) so I might try that someday. But I would recommend this place.
