Full Consultation

Using the theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine, we conduct a holistic diagnosis based on pulse and tongue readings, a detailed patient history, and a careful evaluation of your current condition to find out how we can best help you. Your acupuncturist will provide you with a short treatment plan for the first few visits as we explore treatment options and evaluate initial treatment results.

Acupuncture needles being placed

Part of a larger system known as Traditional Chinese Medicine , acupuncture uses thin needles to stimulate the flow of energy in the body. Modern medicine is just starting to understand how acupuncture works and all the different conditions it can treat. We use it as our main form of treatment and add adjunct options as needed, such as: cupping, electro-stimulation, heat lamp, and moxibustion.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft tissues such as muscles, connective tissue, ligaments, and tendons. It helps improve blood and lymph circulation to improve the body's natural healing abilities, and helps relax tissue for stress and pain relief. We use massage therapy as a supplement to acupuncture if it is appropriate to the treatment, or if a patient requests it.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Also part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese herbal medicine is a compliment to acupuncture: one stimulates externally, while the other works internally. Both balance the flow of energy in the body. Individual herbs are combined into a formula specific to the condition being treated and will often change through the course of treatment to better suite changes and improvements in your condition.
